i would say that she is good for the position with the quote, "She's brought terrorists and cybercriminals to justice. She's obtained convictions against corrupt public officials from both parties". From that quote it not only shows that she is focused on bring people to justice, but that she also is not biased as she has treated each party equally.

If I were a U.S. Senator, I would confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General. I would confirm her because she is President Obama's appointee and she seems qualified for the position. While I understand that some GOP members don't wish to confirm her based on her stance on immigration, I believe that she should still be confirmed due to her qualifications. In my opinion ideological differences shouldn't inhibit someone from being confirmed.

If I were a Senator I would not confirm President Obama’s Attorney General Nominee Loretta Lynch. After reading different news articles about her views on various ideas, I do not agree with her beliefs on many different areas. Her views on immigration are too close to the Presidents views and I do not agree with them. I think that she will get confirmed, but do not support her views on immigration.

Regarding the Senate confirmation of attorney general, Loretta Lynch, the US Senators must take into consideration the principles of the checks and balances system to see if she is best fit for the job.

If I were the US Senator, I would appoint Lynch as attorney. She seems to have her head on right, meaning she devoted her political life to the constitution and its foundation. I agree with her stance on the death penalty and believe that it can be effective. However, I don't think her stance on the legalization of marijuana really matters because sooner or later it will become legal. It's just a matter of time before other states make it legal too. I found it astonishing that she openly stated that torture should be illegal. I highly support her on that because she's proof that you can bring justice without the use of torture. As Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont said, "She's brought terrorists and cybercriminals to justice. She's obtained convictions against corrupt public officials from both parties."

If I were a U.S. senator on the Judiciary Committee, I would vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General because I believe that she is well qualified for the position and that she would help to solve some of the problems that we are currently experiencing. I agree with her stance on immigration and I also support her efforts to try to fix the rifts between civilians and police officers. Lately there have been many harsh sentiments aimed at police officers due to popular court cases and viral videos that show aggressive officials. Because of this, many people no longer trust the police and riots and protests are becoming more and more frequent. If Loretta Lynch were to be appointed as Attorney General, I believe that we would see some progress in a better relationship between the people and the police. I also admire how Loretta is not afraid to disagree with Obama's ideas, even though Obama is supporting her in becoming Attorney General. This was seen over the issue of legalizing marijuana, where Loretta disagreed with Obama by saying that she does "not support the legalization of marijuana" and that she believes that it is "not the position of the Department of Justice currently to support the legalization." All in all, I believe that Loretta Lynch would make a good attorney general due to her passion of the issues that are important to her and her strong sense of entitlement to the oppressed people of America.

If I were a U.S. Senator I would vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General because at the moment she seems that she to be the best person to be in this position. She qualifies to be voted in because she is fighting for equality for ALL americans (racial crimes) and she has also brought down many cybercriminals which is a strong issue at the moment. She also seems to know how to allocate the limited federal resources to the important cases without overlooking cases that are important but may not seem too important to other people. I believe that she will do a great job as the Attorney General due to her experience and her passion to bring crime to justice.

I would confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General because she is fair and loyal to the consistution and justice, not so much Obama. Her responses affirm that she is clearly adept and surely can handle the position while upholding constitutional ideals. The Republicans asked many controversial questions that they wanted to have investigated when Holder was the Attorney General. Lynch's responses were able to differed ate her from Obama and Holder while remaining Democratic and loyal to the consistution. While many of the republicans may not approve based solely on immigration, I'm sure that Lynch is a suitable candidate and is fit for the job.

If I were a US Senator on the Judiciary Committee, I would vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General. In the cnn.com report she states that the people declare to the important this and that is the constitution. That vital piece of document is the reason we have the liberties. She speaks in a way that would benefit both republicans and democrats. Being Obama's appointee also gives her an advantage due proving that she is capable of discussing and declaring her point of view when it comes to delicate topics. Being loud and proud to her point of view even if it isn't the same of Obama. Obama declared that smoking marijuana is the same as smoking a cigarette or drinking alcohol. She clearly says that she disagrees with this statement and if the decision is to be made it should not be of the judiciary court. Her background of her life gives me a good look of what kind of person she is and what kind of attorney she will become.

I would vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as the Attorney General because of her ideas and what she stands for. She seems to value the constitution above any political party and this is something very valuable. She also wants to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the people and attempt to stabilize the situation and regain the trust of the american people. She is capable of taking down people, be they terrorist or corrupt politicians no matter what side they may be on as said by Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont. He also mentions that she has experience with "two senate confirmations as Attorney General" which means she knows the ropes and doesn't have to waste time on that and she could just get straight to work. It's also great that she wishes to better the relationship as she said of " this committee, the United States Senate, and the entire United States Congress" which is always good. Both parties seem to also like and appreciate her wanting to follow the constitution rather than a party which should make her job easier.

If I were a U.S. Senator, I would vote for Loretta Lynch as Attorney General because she's proved that she is fit for that position. I completely agree with her need to make progress to prevent harsh attacks on policemen due to videos and court cases that display police officers in such a negative fashion. Police officers should not be attacked as a whole just because of a few ill-behaved officers. It is much needed that we fix that relationship between our police force and our citizens. In addition, her stance on torture is completely agreeable. There are other ways to bring an individual to justice rather than omitting to torture.

If I were a U.S. Senator, I would vote for Loretta Lynch as Attorney General because she demonstrated the skills needed to provide the stability that is needed. Lynch has a clear mind, knows what she wants to do and how things are gonna get done. The Republicans asked her questions that could go either way and are very touchy subjects among the American people. Lynch answered the questions clearly and with a purpose there was no bearing around the bush. She had a plan and from what I read she will wants to enact that plan in the role of Attorney General. Obama says that smoking marijuna is the same as smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol and she disagreed with him saying that it's not the same and she doesn't support the legalization of it and it's not her job to deal with that! I don't see any other reason for lynch to be appointed Attorney General, she is a women with a plan, a voice, and isn't scared to address her opinion about what she believes is right.

I would confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General because it is clear that she has the passion, dedication, and determination, to serve this position well. Her background and upbringing have provided her the qualities necessary to be qualified for this position. She has proven herself to be strong and able to stand her ground, but also able to acknowledge her lack of awareness on a certain subject and saying that she would not be able to properly address that issue on the spot because of her lack of knowledge in that area. Many people would lie and come up with a response, but Lynch reacted to the situation professionally and showed the poise and strength that we need an Attorney General to have.

Although I do not agree on some of her views on political policies, I do think that she is a good candidate for Attorney General because her speech indicated her driven passion for justice and dedication to the Constitution. Also, with her previous experience as a United States Attorney such as taking on financial fraud cases. As she acts as liaison between law enforcement and minorities, there will hopefully be better handling of the situation involving recent police killings. Her speech shows her confidence in her ability and her influence to become Attorney General that came from her parents and her community. Even though she disagrees with some of Obama's views, she will be a effective AG in terms of her convictions.

although i agree with loretta lynch on issues such as gay marriage and polygamy, i would not confirm loretta lynch as attorney general since i do not agree with her views on immigration. I do not believe that "citizenship is a privilege", and i believe that any one should have a fair opportunity to come to america and live stress free. she also states very clearly how she would follow the constitution strictly and i do not believe the constitution is currently successful in "leading" the United States. as John Adams stated, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other," and it's obvious that the united states is far from moral.

If I were a U.S. Senator, I would vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General though I do not agree with a lot of her views (e.g. immigration policy and waterboarding), because I feel like she is not stuck between the separation of what Republicans and Democrats believe. She seems to have established her views on what she personally believes and not what is expected of her because of her affiliation with President Obama. Her kind of judgment is the kind that would be rather refreshing in the midst of a sharply divided country. This paired with the fact that Lynch comes from a family she claims has raised her well, makes me believe that she is a good candidate.

Loretta Lynch appears to focus on the aspect of restoring the formality of congress and its constituents. She realizes that her role as Attorney General is to ensure law enforcement, public prosecutions, and legality of the government; she sticks to that belief. Although this article that CNN had posted seemed to lean more towards the left, through various stances on Republican rebuttals, she was able to keep her political ideologies to herself, unless properly asked in an environment that permitted. If I were a strong proponent of either a Republican or Democrat I would feel a sense of hostility towards her because of her refusal to takes sides. An opponent your unable to identify is even more a threat than initially presumed. From my perspective she seems like a perfect fit for the position; responsible, firm, and attentive.

Even though I disagree with her view on immigration I would vote to confirm Loretta lynch as AG. She has proved she is very qualified (Harvard education, nominated by Obama, and much more) and will follow the constitution! She is independent and can be differed from Obama. Even if she seems a bit radical her ideals are upheld from the constitution making her have my vote.

Like everyone I agree with her on some issues and disagree with her on some. I appreciate the fact that Loretta Lynch promises to continue to use the Constitution as a crucial foundation for her position's roles. She disagrees with the legalization of marijuana which to me is an essentially ignorant opinion considering what the President said about it being the same as smoking tobacco and drinking alcohol. Hell, if the President and I agree on something like this then I think it must be somewhat of a reliable and well thought out opinion. I also agree with her in that citizenship is a privelage. One of her most commendable actions and essentially the one that sets my opinion in stone is that she is leading the investigation of Eric Garner's death, showing she has a strong sense of morality and justice, which, of course, is the most important aspect of this job title. Ultimately, I do think that I would agree with allowing her to continue in her position.

Personally, if I was in the position of a U.S. Senator and had to decide to appoint Loretta Lynch as Attorney General, I would by all means. Her political point of view is apparently balanced. She supports the ideals for same-sex marriage and equality, but still holds some conservative ideals such as her stance against the legalization of marijuana. She seems like a balanced political figure fit for the position, from my perspective at least. I feel that her being in the Justice Department would equalize them from skewing ultra-left or right. “’She seemed to give the GOP enough to differentiate her from Obama and Holder, yet be able to serve effectively in the administration.’” Her disagreements on what Obama’s currently doing/deciding is what parts of the government need. I agree with her stance on drugs and the overly pushed attempt at legalizing marijuana. At the same time, she believes that torture should be illegal and that criminals can be brought to justice without the use of it. I have little political knowledge, but after carefully reading and factoring in what I agree and disagree with, I truly believe that she is right for the job.

If I were a US Senator on the Judiciary Committee, I would vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General because she is very qualified, passionate, and dedicated to her profession. She looks at things from both views and makes a lot of fair judgements. Although I don't agree with her on everything, she does have valid reasonings for why she makes certain decisions. I respect that she voiced her opinion about the legalization of marijuana and she wasn't afraid to disagree with Obama's view. Overall, I think she would be a great person for the job because she wants nothing but to better and strengthen our country.

I would personally confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General because I respect the view she has of the constitution and the justice that should be upheld through out our nation including with our elected officials. Lynch has successfully put away criminals from both parties and seems to have a middle of the road and well rounded view on all her policies. Although she appears beneficial to both parties I feel that her moral values are respectfully strong and that they have the potential to override her logical thinking in a case. It is difficult to tell whether the radical idealism I predict is liberal or conservative because of her conservative view on legalizing marijuana and her liberal views toward inequalities like same sex marriages. All and all I support her position as Attorney General and if I had to provide only one example why, I would say that her statement on the broken relationship between law officials and their community. She specifically States that, "Few things have pained me more than the recent reports of tension and division between law enforcement and the communities we serve"(CNN). I think that any woman, let alone an African American woman, that can admit the brokenness in any situation to mass media and has the courage to say that there is something wrong with the gap in our communication and relationship between citizens and office is a courageous and righteous woman deserving of fighting the corruption in our country.

I would appoint her because she stands by her points despite the many conspiracies against her. And Lynch has the dedication to making a difference while also being "closer to congress" to achieve those changes. Plus she has a high level of education and knows the pressures of being Attorney General.

I think Lynch is a good cantidate for Attorney General, however, I disagree with many things she supports. For example, she does not support the legalization of marijuana.Lynch disagrees with Obama further proving that she will not be afraid to speak her mind. I believe that marijuana should be legalized for recreatonal use as well as medically. Furthermore, I believe Lynch will be succesfull do to her backround and mindset and dedication to the country.

It is apparent through her background that Loretta Lynch is qualified for the position of Attorney General. While her decision not to legalize marijuana may go against that of the President's, she is right to justify her view pointing out its unconnected nature in relation to the Department of Justice. The breadth with which she has dealt with cases, ranging from the New York subway bomber to lower-level cases bodes well for her case and her ability to handle a wide range of situations that is assumed with the A.G. position. Although I disagree with some of her stances on immigration, I believe that she is capable of leveling the playing field and making decisions based on the wellbeing of the entire country, instead of aiming to serve solely the needs of herself. I think that it is healthy for such a powerful position to be able to disagree and agree with the President and others on some issues, as does Lynch, allowing the two groups to find common ground and work things out accordingly.

I would confirm Lynch because she makes it clear that she has good intentions. She makes it clear that she is taking the position for the good of righteousness rather than to serve as an Obama henchman. This can be seen when she said that she “doesn't agree with Obama's previous comments that the drug is similar to smoking cigarettes or drinking alcohol -- and that she opposes legalizing its use.” She also seeks to improve from the previous attorney general and wants to have “a better relationship with Congress.” This shows that she seeks to improve and do her job well rather than just be a robot in the system. I also believe that the actions she seeks to help address problems regarding the police or immigration are appropriate as a representative of justice. Overall, I believe she is an appropriate attorney general because her purpose is appropriate and she seeks to do her job correctly and well.

If I was a US senator on the judiciary committee, I would vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as the attorney general because I believe she would be able to maintain and uphold the principles of the checks and balances system. She also is open to the idea of comprimise with the 114th Congress, which is what our gov't needs right now. It seems that she respects Obama's policy on immagration, which is good for the president, but she is also one who wants to crack down on ILLEGAL immigration and illegal drug and firearm trafficing, which would be good for the Republicans in Congress who want to increase security on our southern border to protect Americans. It seems that she could bring some comprimise to gov't, but also create some deeper holes in other areas of interest. Time will show what she acomplishes if she gets the job, but lets hope she sticks to her goal to "Protect and Serve Americans."

If I was placed in the position of a US Senator on the judiciary committee, I would confirm Loretta Lynch as US Attorney General, because she provides a decently balanced viewpoint that considers multiple perspectives in regards to current issues. She stays within a certain bound of each political form, and uses sensible idealogy to please a variety of officials. I agree with her viewpoint in certain objectives and hope she expands on her thoughts when she said "Few things have pained me more than the recent reports of tension and division between law enforcement and the communities we serve". This deals with a very crucial topic in todays society of the relationship between police and citizens, and a person who expresses concern seems promising to be in place as the Attorney General. Overall Loretta Lynch seems like a promising candidate in this next opportunity for politicians.

I would confirm Loretta Lynch as US attorney general. Ms. Lynch has the proper experience and knowledge to serve as an effective attorney general. She is relatively moderate as far as the political spectrum is concerned and therefore can be counted upon to deliver fair, logical, and objective rulings and judgements on partisan issues.

This is what we need and she's bringing it to the table. Even with harsh criticism and many people whom fail to believe her she does not let it alter her point of views and stands by what she means. I would vote to confirm Loretta Lynch as Attorney General because she knows what she is talking about. An example of this was when they started bombarding her questions about immigration and she responded with "legal arguments and noting that the Department of Homeland Security actually carries out many immigration enforcement policies," meaning she has done her legal research and isn't just giving out opinions. She has good intentions to get along with congress,as noted multiple times in the article. She has also dealt with "terrorists and cybercriminals" and has brought them to justice which, in my opinion, makes her fearless. I personally think that Lynch has good intentions and won't use her powers for selfish purposes.

After reading the CNN article and watching some brief clips of the confirmation, I would have to agree that she is a good person to be appointed to the position of Attorney general because according to Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont mentioned on the CNN article, "she's brought terrorists and cyber criminals to justice. She's obtained convictions against corrupt public officials from both parties." Based off of what Sen. Patrick Leahy said it emphasizes Loretta Lynch's honesty in consideration that when she obtained convictions against public officials that these "public officials" were from BOTH parties, not just one but BOTH also showing that she is not a huge biast. Lynch also said that her goal if being appointed as Attorney General would be to strengthen the relationship between her position and Congress because the current holder of the Attorney General position is being pushed to resign by the GOP according to CNN's article. Being the Democrat that Lynch is, she has a high standing approval of the Republican party as well, but from the article on CNN it said that the Republicans at the confirmation did seem to support her as a candidate for this position, but attacked her due to the ties with Obama being the one to appoint her and well she is a Democrat, but for the most part according to the article they seems to like Lynch. Though the Republicans are tipsy on Lynch being the final decision or not, she did say that unlike Eric Holder the current place holder of the Attorney General, she will try to have good relations with Congress rather than siding with the President because of being appointed, which makes me think that Lynch is the best choice for this position and that she has good intentions for this position because she is not a biast individual nor a non logical thinker of politics, plus the fact that Lynch ACTUALLY seems to care about the things that she's being asked about and the things she has mentioned at the meeting that yes she really does have good intentions for this position and will appreciate it and not take it for granted like others would.
